Foxhills Fishery was established in 1982 by the Bull family who are still the current owners. The other part of the business, Foxhills Riding School and Livery Stables on Beacon Road (Established in 1955) was sold in September, 2011 in order for the owners to devote more time to the Fishery.

A bungalow was built for the family to live on site which now affords a more secure place to fish, plus offering our anglers better amenities such as well maintained toilet facilities, a small shop and hot food service..

There are three pools, obviously very well stocked after a 30 year period of breeding and regular re-stocking. Our pools are checked and regulated in part by world famous Dr. Bruno Broughton who is the country’s leading ‘fish doctor’. There are, in general, the same type of fish in each pool, roach, bream, tench, rudd, perch and carp (commons, mirror etc. to double figures) However the small pool has a particularly good amount of quality tench and the upper pool has barbel. All the pools fish in equally good measure, but naturally every angler has his own preference (they do not always tell the truth about ‘best areas’ because they like to keep them to themselves!) it is often said that “if you can’t catch at Foxhills, then you should change your sport”.

We are quite easy to find, postcode WS9 0QT, only one mile from Junction 7 of the M6, in the valley behind Barr Beacon, take Pinfold Lane or Old Hall Lane from Beacon Road, or Chapel Lane from Birmingham Road. Once you are on site at the pools, that are set within 23 acres of fields, you would never believe that you are so close to civilisation. Quiet and peaceful with an amazing amount of birds in the area, plus the occasional curious fox, it is easy to imagine you are in remote countryside. With the cost of fuel at the moment, ‘distance to travel’ has got to be taken into consideration.

In fairness to the high percentage of ‘regulars’ who fish the pools we no longer hold matches. This means all the pools are available for pleasure fishing all the time.

Youngsters are allowed to fish unsupervised, but only if well behaved. No juniors will be allowed on the premises if they are not fishing, so parents please do not allow your young anglers to bring their friends. Due to ‘spectators’ taking advantage and using their friends tackle to fish without paying the charge for ‘watching’ is the same as for fishing. No bad manners or bad language is tolerated, from young or old and once you have been caught doing either you are never allowed on site again. We do allow alcohol (only in cans, no glass bottles) but will not tolerate any drunken behaviour. There was, in the past, a problem with vermin, but since the removal of the bins this has been solved. We greatly appreciate the fact that our patrons all take their litter home with them leaving tidy pegs ready for the next person.

We close at 7:30pm throughout the summer without exception and there is no night fishing permitted. We do have dogs which are allowed loose on site during the evenings and they take their job very seriously!!

Dogs are not allowed on site due to our own guard dogs, anyone with a guide dog wishing to fish will be accepted but should call first.

All in all we want all our anglers to have a happy and pleasant day out at our pools, our rules are relatively few and are only there for the comfort of our fishermen and the benefit of our fish, which deserve to be treated with respect. So PLEASE read the rules before entering because they are to be adhered to without exception or discussion.
